Ohisashiburi, desu ne?! (Long time no see, isn't it?!) Well, things have been a bit hectic and basically most people are on Facebook, so I didn't know if this blog will still get any attention. I have decided that I write these blogs not only for others to read, but for myself as well. So, here I am. With a cruise to
So last month, I took the long(ish) journey back to my oldest of stomping grounds,
This, of course, meant flying again, so once again, I was back sitting at the airport.
After a brief(ish) stopover in Calgary, I arrived no worse for wear and my parents were waiting with open arms to assist with masses of luggage. Once we arrived on the good 'ole farm, I dropped all my crap off in my room with the same motif as it has always had.
For the most of the first week, I didn't take any pictures except some crappy cell phone shots…not sure what that was all about, but I'm guessing laziness. My camera also happens to be quite heavy. Blah! Anyways, I digress.
The first full day out I hung around Altona and visited my ol' granny in the fogey-house. I think we went to Winkler too, and that was thrill to the max – capped off with a nice, long, Mennonite sit at T-Ho's. Next day, I ventured into
My totemo oishi runch.
I know they don't look like it, but they cried because they were so happy to see me. It was quite pathetic, really. We started at the Kings Head and worked our way to the Keg for dinner. The usual tom-foolery ensued (which was none at all, as per usual) and a good time was enjoyed by all.
The next morning we went for brekkie at the little B's Saturday haunt, the motor hotel. T'was...oatmeal-ish.
I just laid about all day and then we headed to the Wankler again for menno buffet for dinner with the extended fam. That was crazy keilke, vereniki, schmaunt faht, varsht, the whole nine, ya know? After that was Shrek, Superstore, and then DQ. Sick. So much food.
Sunday I went to church and then we headed to
Monday I headed over to my best pregnant friends' house in Plum Coulee and she was lovely as usual.
She didn't look very pregnant and was almost half-way there. She just looked like she had a few too many cookies after lunch. Or possibly a burrito or two. Minus the gas. You know what I mean.
That evening I did my
Tuesday was my day to hang out with the little B. We headed to Wanky to see 'In the Land of Women'. My verdict – BOOOOO! Adam Brody, you suck! So pretentious. After that, we headed to Superstore so the B could do some shopping for birthday presents.
Wednesday – first day of proper pictures! I didn't have much to do that day, so I wandered around the yard and visited my dad in his workshop. He's basically kind of like Santa in that aspect.
This is Anorexic, my favorite little cat. So needy.
My dad was so excited about his microfiche machine! He got off eBay for $20 and was keen to show me his motorcycle manuals.
My dad is a motorcycle skeleton collector.
See, just like Santa.
Wednesday night was Wii night. And I suck at it.
On Thursday, I headed back into the city for one last farewell to my former workplace company thinger due to a buyout…
After visiting with my former fellow peeps, I headed to my old biking trail in the rain.
I met up with my buddies again, this time at Baileys.
Unfortch, Queechon had to head to some baby's coming-out party or something so he left, but me and the B-Malio headed out for some BP's, Pirates 3, and basically taking over Winnipeg. The B needed to go home to primp, so I sat on the couch, read a book about Canadian humour or something and took some photos from the balcony.
Friday was a do-nothing during the day and hung out with my old college pal, Almira.
Saturday I headed into the city to spend the weekend with my oldest of friends in a nosh-fest, gabbing about our thighs and whatnot.
Umma…contrary to popular belief…these are my stomach pills.
I stayed at Kelly and Cephas's for night and we headed to church the next morning for some fiesta lunch and a really good sermon.
(Hmm…I think I just bought that same shirt two days ago…)
On Monday, I headed back into the city for lunch with another old chum, Krut. We lunched at Don's Deli and chit-chatted about this and that.
Monday afternoon/evening, I ventured outside again to chill with my hairy new friend Anorexic and to take more farm shots.
MASSIVE CAT APPROACHING ON HIGHWAY.
Okay…serious. Stop following you little b-yatch.
After my exterior excursions, I tried to cheer up little B who seemed a tad dour.
SUCCESS. Smell it.
Chilled with the fam:
Twins
I used to think I was gonna marry him. I loved MxPx.
Yes, this is really on my little sister's door, still after all these years. She likely crapped herself when she heard they are going to tour.
Mexican crap hanging from my vent. Um. What was I thinking?
That night, me and the little B decided to watch my favoritest of movies the first Nana. She now insists on being called Hachi. Cute.
The next day I was done. Gotta say…wasn't my most exciting of trips, but what could I possibly expect? It just doesn't give me much good stuff to work with (but let's face it – after
My parents drove me into the city and we took the scenic route. I also wore the present my dad gave
Single tear.
We went for lunch at Cora's and it was really good!
Mmmm….cheesy, fatty goodness.
Once boarded and flown to Calgary, I snapped this, shall we say, clever sticker on the TP dispensers in the washroom.
Ancient forests!! Hahahahahahhaahahaha! I'm so lame.
I arrived safely back and I gotta say, I was pretty happy. I really do love it here. Anyways, this blog is long enough. I haven't done anything too exciting lately, but this weekend may yet prove to bear some blog fruit. If it does, I'll keep you posted. Be safe and be good.
