Have you heard that song that goes, "Life is life...nanananana...nananana life." Yeah, it's a pretty awful song, but it's a part of my cycling class. Anyways, that's about how I'm feeling about everything that's going on. Oh well. I've done a few events this past week(end), so I'll share them with the blogging universe.

We just movered ourselves into a new spot, and it is basically ace. I didn't get a shot to take too many...er...shots of it, but I did manage to get a nice picture of my new computer desk:

And my kitchen, which is now loaded with boxes:

I'll have to get around to unpacking when the fun stops and I get motivated...mwah mwah mwaaaaaaah.

Yesterday we headed on over to Vancouver for a day of out-and-about-ness. We, of course, being myself, Martin, and the parent's-in-law.  We headed over to Vanier Park/Granville Island area to check out the sights, as Marty's parents have never been here before. Lots of kites again out, but no fancy guy like last time.

I used a super-gross public park washroom (I look so psyched though):

We stopped on by Ikea on the way home for an always enjoyable experience, traipsing through the "As Is" section and of course...

THE CHRISTMAS SECTION!
No big deal. Just bought a couple of rolls to wrap the gifts of which I have already purchased the majority of.

Today was another nice day in which we headed to Mill Lake for a nice saunter around the park:

Now this next one was a bit of a grosser...

This lady was sitting on the boadwalk, wearing that, and puffing on her cigarette. You have no idea how long I waited with my camera pointed at her to take a puff. She never noticed me. In fact, she fell asleep since her last puff and proceed to drop her cigarette on the ground momentarily and then retrieve it and puff. Snap. End of story. Now we can try together to erase that picture from our memory.

This evening, we headed out to mini golf at for an "Under the Sea" experience. It was great fun in which I kicked everyone's patootie and ended up one under par. No big deal again.

We (Marty's dad) even ended up winning a free round of golf! Good times had by all. We also headed over to the shooting range for good times with our free tokens.

Tomorrow it's back to work so I can make a few shekels so I can live for next weekend. Sigh. And then I gotta unpack. And I gotta get up early to exercise. Etc etc etc. Anyways, hopefully everything is well with you all. Nothing super cool on the horizon, but if something pops up, I'll snap it and let ya know. Mmmmkay? Au revoir.

A Tribute; An Impeachment

Allo. Today is moving day for moi, so I'm gonna try to crammer this in real good. I've been getting really bad with this blogging biznass. Basically though, truth be told, nothing's really gone on in the last month, as it was my gap where Jean left for Japan, and Marty was still in MB, and I was just beetling away at my job and Japanese classes. And so, here is the pieces of inbetween:

It all started that fateful day a month ago, as I dropped my dear old friend Beaner off at the airport. After, in my gloominess, I went over to Vanier Park for a walk and a bike ride into downtown, and around the seawall.

This was the bench we had sat on, not one week earlier during the most perfect weather of the summer. Now, it wasn't raining, just spitting - but sad nonetheless.

IMG_0694

Took a hiker to Granville Island because I wasn't sure if it was quite spitting hard enough to bike (which I did eventually do), but I had to use the washroom anyways.

Burrard Bridge.

I've been living vicariously through my conversations with Jean about her Japanese going-on's, and I'm trying to live as Japanese as possible here, in order to prep myself for my trip in January. (Plus, I basically just love to pretend I'm Japanese.)

Insert a few weeks' time here, and that brings me to last weekend, when Marty arrived and we had our anniversary. It was nice to see him again! (duh.) I had planned us a mini-trip in Vancouver for the weekend, so we started off by doing a lil' stop into Metrotown.

I bought this shirt from Bebe, which is actually a neat-o store, which insanely high prices (mine was on sale, natch.) You know me.

We stayed at the Pacific Palisades Hotel in Vancouver, which was aiiiet, except for $27.00 over night valet parking. Booooourns.

The hotel used to be an old apartment building, so the hallways were narrow and the showers were old, but it was also neat to have a balcony on a busy street like Robson. That had a fun pool, too, but I didn't get any pictures of that.

We went for dinner at Heron's Restaurant at the Fairmont Waterfront, and it was lovely! The acknowledged it was our anniversay a bunch of times and they switched our napkins from white to black because we were wearing black and the white ones sometimes leave a residue! Ha!

This was good, but I gotta same I'm a bit of a queen B and I like to not have bones in my chicken, which this one did. The gloop around it and under was scrumtrilecent.

IMG_0779
They brought us a free anniversary dessert! So nice! It was a pumpkin cheesecake (it was Thanksgiving after all), and it was a very nice gesture.

So, because it was our anniversary, I used the excuse to eat myself somewhat silly. Really, I use any excuse. There was this totally Japanese convenience store on the street below our hotel, so I ventured in there, because I'm so Japanese, right? So they had all this candy and cookies and junk (along with other wierdo stuff like Onigiri), but I bought a bunch because I wanted to "see what it tasted like". Riiight.

IMG_0780
I can read this!! It says Sakusakupanda!

IMG_0781
And, of course, no sack of candy is complete without a box of Pocky or Pretz. These Pretz, pizza-flavoured, where actually super-yummy. And only 90 calories per bag! Wheehoo!

After our morning jaunt shopping, we headed over to Vanier Park (once again!) for a stroll. It was actually quite windy and a little chilly. Everyone there was flying kites, but this one old dooder was doing all kinds of pro-kiting stuff:

It was a nice anniversary. We are going on a cruise for next years'.

So, today we are moving up onto the mountain. It's a cute little spot we are renting from a funny Asian man. I was going to finish packing last night, but I got a little caught up on eBay and the like, so I've still got a bit to do today. So, um, have a great rest of the weekend O.o and hopefully I'll be bringing another blogo back soon.

Sayonara.
