Went East-er

>> Monday, April 9, 2012

As is tradition, I headed to Calgary for Easter. I went East-er, get it?!? (Booo!) Anyway, no better person/place to visit than my sister, Sis. I somehow managed to convince her to drop major coinage on a Calgary/Canucks game (remember, this is 2012 and the Canucks are reasonably decent. Heck, they may win the President’s Trophy), so this trip, for me, I was losing my shizz. As is normal for me, when going to see the Canucks, I put on my full regalia – hair extentsions, plastered on make-up, and jersey for the entire day. Hey...don’t judge. Sis invited one of her friends along (thankfully, a Canucks fan – this train don’t stop for no Flames Fools) and we started our Cancucky adventure at the Dutton Lounge at the Saddledome. We were in the minority, but felt immediate rapport with anyone in a ‘Nucks jersy. ‘Course.

Yum? I guess I forgot the “before” picture.

L1050740

Obvio I forced everyone to watch the pre-skate with me – best part of the whole game (especially when they lose.)

That time when Kes had blonde hair.

L1050762
What ever happened to Bitz?

L1050764
Sami Salo staring me down to death AGAIN. I wonder what he has against me?

My sister said, “This IS pretty cool” when Luongo and his bum hung out right by. Indeed.

In case you can’t tell, I love me some 2012 Edler.

MURPH!

In case you couldn’t tell, this is a pretty hockey-oriented post rn.

My bb in the sin bin.

A hockey game.

LAPP!

So they lost. And people were making fun of us in the parking lot. THANKS A LOT CANUCKS!

Shifting away from that stanky loss, me and Sis got up to more shenanigans. Of course, we went to Holt Renfrew where I (apparently) convinced Sis to buy her first Hermes scarf. Wha? Me? That doesn’t sound like me at all. We also ate dinner at a restaurant where the ladies were really fancy:

We also spent some time watching the childhood classic, “Jem”.

”Synergy! I need your help!”

Someone’s excited about their new Hermes scarf.

For the last Canucks game of the season (yup, we’re back here), we went to some pig restaurant on 8 Ave.

I’ll take two whole roast pigs, please.

On Easter Sunday, we went to some Executive Inn or something and had brunch. Sis likes food and is the best food eater ever.

L1050822

We also did some shopping and playing of Akinator the Genie.

Cliché shoe shot. Were my pants really that short? Doesn’t surprise me.

L1050827
Who is this little kid? High tables, man.

We also did some 17th. Can’t not do 17th.

I also happened to find this amazing machine of temporary tattoos.

That Lorena Bobbitt tattoo was tempting, but too much risk that I wouldn’t get it. Biggest regret of my life.

Hanging Out...and Over and Out (Part 15)

>> Sunday, February 19, 2012

For all the partying I apparently “missed” in my youth, I made up in a single night at Lex. Finally fell into bed at 6AM, only to wake up at 9AM for a 10AM checkout. Wow I felt terrible. I should know better than this. So much nausea. But I had stuff to do, so stoic Erin emerged, though inside my heart of hearts, I felt like death. Serves me right.

L1050696
so…much…bright…

L1050697
Sundays are gloriously quiet down here.

At this point of my life, I’ve never met a hangover I couldn’t cure my throwing food at it. Well, I suppose there is a first time for everything. I sadly gnawed on a sandwich at my local Lawson’s.

L1050699

L1050698

Clearly, I had no distinct plan for the day since it is departure day…I always kind of bum around. Probably best I wasn’t too ambitious, as all I could think about was sleeping and nausea. I tried to hydrate, but even Lindsey couldn’t work her magic this morning.

IMG_1894

I wandered around Parco, sleepily bought a new clutch, and spent some time slumped in a washroom stall, just to be able to close my eyes for a few minutes. Clearly, this is not my finest hour.

Mayuko and I were meeting for lunch in Meguro, so I went over a bit early and sat in the mall, in front of a shoe store for a whole hour. I watched the salesman angle the shoes several different ways, try to woo ladies into his store, move some shoes around, all with the best demeanour I believe I’ve ever seen from a shoe sales clerk. Or perhaps it just seemed that way because I felt sedated.

Got an physical or emtional problem? Try throwing some tasty bread at it! Magic cure. Well, any day but today.

L1050702

L1050703
Mayuko, please don’t kill me for putting this photo of you online. I know you hate every photo I take of you, but I love them all so much. Miss you!

L1050704
Obvi, it’s Yamapi. Is that guy still around?

L1050705

I left for the airport probably earlier than I needed to, but the sooner I get there, the sooner I can check these dang suitcases. It’s been a long journey.

L1050707
Tokyo Sky Treeeeeee!

L1050708

L1050709

Oh dear. The stark beauty of this place is so dear to me.

L1050710

I’ve managed to finally find some good departure food at Narita. With a nice view.

Le sigh.

Well, that’s that. Signing off from my epic Asian adventure, 2012. Life is about to get interesting back in Canada, and it’s time to face the music.
