The 'Polis!

Yay! I finally got the shots from my Minneapolis trip (thanks Mom & Pop)! Since I am getting old(ish) my memory may not be as clear...so try to bear with me...it was a week ago and I'm bloated.

So I'm most-likely moving to BC in three-ish weeks. I guess I can say that now, but nothing is 100 percent (it never is). I'm actually heading out there this week for an unnamed company interview. All I will say is that it is pretty sweet. You know how when you are gearing up to leave a job, all of a sudden you hate everything even if you didn't mind the job previously? Yeah, well, I'm in that now. I'm gonna try to fight it though, because I want to enjoy the co-worker aspect while I have it...single tear.

So I like Smallville, and I liked Lex, but he is such a bum in the new ones! We download the episodes and watch them on the computation.

Oh Clarky-poo.

Anyways, that is neither here nor there. On with it.

On July 1st, we got up uber-early to hit the pavement for Minneapolis. I'm not kidding either - it was 4:30! Good times. Me and Kelly tried to sleep on the way down. Stupid car-crampy sleeping.

IMG_1020
Stoopid boys talking about pooping and peeing on the side of the road (Cephas did that.)

We stopped in Albertville for the outlet stores and it was actually some pretty good deals! I did lots of Christmas shopping (ha!) and it was hotter than hell out. Again...good times.

IMG_1021

It was then onto Minneapolis and checking in at our hotel. It was alright (down bedding is good) but there were downsides (no breakfast and poop-ish tasting sausage is bad).

Marty doing the "pee-pee dance". (Or the "I'm hungry dance"...it all looks the same, really.)

IMG_1027
YES! EXACTLY! FUP!

After checking in, it was off to Ikea for some fantastic photo ops! (Really, that's all I did, considering I didn't buy anything.)

Me and my sunburn-y face.

IMG_1036
Stoopid Cephas. He thought he was being all hilarious by getting into my picture. Ha, well the joke was on him when his face melted off when he opened the oven. HA HA HA CEPHAS!

IMG_1037
I loved this mirror. I never looked so tall and skinny.

IMG_1040

IMG_1042

Me, being the insane pig I am, found a buffet place that was not too far from our hotel. It was pretty good! Da da daaaa! Presenting Q. Cumbers:

IMG_1045

IMG_1047
Mmm...chocolate slop.

After stuffing our gills, we headed over to "THE MALL".

IMG_1436

The boys ran through the entire thing, stopping in only one store, so Kelly and I headed on our own. Everything was having pretty huge sales, so we took our sweet time in Victoria's Secret. Their dressing rooms are so freaking plush.

IMG_1048

We wandered near Lego Land and saw our dream bounty hunter...the lucious Boba Fett...*drool*

IMG_1050
I must say...he looked better in person..

IMG_1051
Kelly is such a bounty hunting whore.

After that, we headed back to the hotel for swimming (them) and working out (me). I forgot my swimsuit. D'oh.

The next day, Marty, Cephas and Kelly headed over to Valleyfair for the day, and me and Janelle hung out and shopped during the day (we met up with them at Valleyfair later.) So, shopped we did, and bought more Christmas presents. I'm dang-near ready for teh holiday season. We met our parents for supper at the Cheesecake Factory:

IMG_1439

It was pretty good! If you get the chance, eat there...portions are huge.

Just after 5, we joined up with the Valleyfair team (prices are reduced after 5).

IMG_1446

Janelle headed off with the men as she wanted to ride the pukey rides. Kelly and I headed to the bowels of the park to ride this "easy-going water ride where you don't get wet". I say bullshit on a stick. I got friggin drenched. Everyone in the little boat thing were all wearing swimsuits, except me, and I got a tidal wave down my pants. Nice. At least I wasn't sweaty after that. But oh, my shoes and socks - not so good.

IMG_1440

So Kelly and I just rode the swings a bunch of times to dry ourselves off. Then we sat on a bench and waited for the rest of the crew...

IMG_1443

IMG_1444
Kelly was saying, "Shiiiiiiiiiiiit!"

IMG_1445
Mmm....soggy.

IMG_1448

IMG_1451
This picture is taken perfectly straight. Trust me.

Next up was the extreme swing...this ride was insane! I kept on thinking that never in life should you be X number of feet above the ground with your feet higher than your head...

IMG_1453

IMG_1454
I went on the next ride after these, and I just kept on yelling I hate everyone. My head was not happy.

Next up was the Wild Thing roller coaster. That was sick! You just kept on going higher and higher and the freakin thing is so loud you think "It should not sound like that..." and then you plunge and jerk all over freakin creation. Good times...good times.

Janelle and Cephas

IMG_1464

After that, my goose was cooked. Those people were so pissed I took a picture of the picture they blacked them out after that. But I beat them...oh yes...I did...

After the wild thing, the boys and Janelle wanted to ride the Power Tower thingy again...so they got in line.

IMG_1441

Meanwhile, I got a shot of Vin Diesel riding it...

IMG_1442
Yeah, I swear that's him third from the left in the green shirt. Can you prove otherwise? Yeah, I didn't think so.

IMG_1459
The crew riding up....

IMG_1460
...and falling to their (non) deaths. Good times...always good times...

Then they wanted to go on this sickening-looking contraption called the Exfoliator or something like that and it just zoomed around in a circle.

IMG_1461
She totally looks like she's going to barf, no?

IMG_1463
Good 'ol B; cool as a cucumber.

Last ride of the day was this wacky thing...

IMG_1467

It was this U-shaped thing...I'm so sick of rides right now...

Getting back, we were all soppy and sun-sucked, so we cleaned up and headed over to the Cheesecake Factory (again for me) for some actual cheesecake for me and food for them.

IMG_1478

The next day, we packed up and headed home, stopping a bit on the way so I could pick up some old granny slippers and for supper (salad and ice keem!) All in all, an awesome time with good friends. It may be the last time I go to Minneapolis for a very long time, so I enjoyed myself.

I'll leave you with this for now:

IMG_1052

This week we had Sports Day for the company, and on my walk over to the country club, I saw this fluffy white ground and cotton flying everywhere. This picture doesn't do it justice, but it was really pretty.

I'll fill you in on what goes down this week on the BC job front...wish me luck...
