Tromping through Ewok Village
>> Friday, July 6, 2007
WOOT WOOT. It’s Friday, y’all! This weekend is probably spending some time with Altona kinfolk and maybe celebrating Martin turning a year older. Almost 30 dood. Yipe. But don’t worry, you don’t look a day over 12.
On the last day of June, Marty and I decided to venture out with the masses to Vancouver and headed to the Capilano Suspension Bridge, since we had never been.
View from the bridge…
…view of the bridge!
The bridge is pretty long and you sure give your butt a good workout when hustling along it. That thing sways in the wind like crazy. It sags like a diaper though. Soooo many people were so freaked out and were hanging onto the side (and stopping to take a picture every few feet – thank you Asian tourists.) Marty claimed he walked the whole thing without touching the side once. I don’t believe him.
On the other side, there was a treetops adventure area where you go from bridge to bridge, suspended by trees. I called it the Ewok forest – it SO was.

That lady’s pants were such a hideous crime.
This is the tallest tree in the forest.
View of the bridge from the lookout.
I rallied the original crew for a group shot.
After busting away from the swarms (AND receiving my “I did it!” certificate), we headed back into North Vancouver for some shopping and then on to my favorite, Vanier Park and Granville Island (again)!! I know I often post pictures from those two spots, but..um…here are more!
Over the Lion’s Gate Bridge
These MASSIVE barges are super-cool to see. It’s like playing Battleship.
Marty wanted to take this picture for his family. Cute.
These people kept making out. Awkward.
PIRATE SHIP.
We did a LOT of sitting around that day. And for some stupid reason, we both wore black jeans (because we are all emo, naturally) and got sweaty if we walked to far. That being said, we walked to Granville Island and saw this strange sight from there…
Hm…why are they spraying water into the air? I’m very confused by this. For what purpose? Why were there four streams at different heights? Why were they spraying water into water? If anyone knows, tell me! Maybe it doesn’t matter. It probably doesn’t.
A good time! We decided to head back into Abbotsford and rented “Stomp the Yard”. Um, who knew that “Save the Last Dance” would be such an innovator in a genre? This movie was a mix of “Save the Last Dance”, “Honey”, “You Got Served”, and “Bring It On.” Omoshiroi. Anyways, I groaned throughout the entire thing. Two Boo!’s out of a possible five.
Like I mentioned this weekend is the big M’s birfday, so wish him a good one. Next weekend we are prepping for family visit (yay!) so more adventures are afoot. Be good.
ps. My hair is orange now.
