Instant Children - Just Add Water!

Happy Summertimes! As you have, so have I been busy. Not enjoying the summer though…I’ve been working. In order to make it look like I’ve been living it up, I’m going to tell you all my summer fodder (which is unfortunately comprised of one post only.) Yay!

In July, Jean and I headed into the ‘Couv for a weekend night of fun and frivolity since we had an empty apartment to crash at. For our first (and main) stop of the night, we headed to the Richmond Night Market for all kinds of cheap asian goods and foods to distract from the mosquito-y heat.

After the night market (in which I bought a very-fake-but-totally-cute Tokidoki bag), we headed to the apartment and then proceeded to main street to wander with the nomads and gaze into exceedingly fancy restaurants with foods we couldn’t pronounce. After hitting up a 7-11 for candy, we decided to stop at a coffee shop and continued to stuff our gullets with smoothies and other assorted confectionaries. Stuffed, we lurked home and went to sleep. The next day we stopped by White Spot for breakfast and a stomachache. Jean went to work for a few hours and I got really lost in Stanley Park in the meantime. It was a nice time.

The next weekend, Marty’s sister and family came out from MB and it was on! They were only out for three days, so we made the most of exploring what we could in so little time. As soon as they were out, we headed to the Castle Fun Park for mini-golf and shooting stuff.

The next day, we were off to the Vancouver Aquarium and I acquired a child for the next three days (whom I turned into a little Japanese-speaking robot).

Partying in Stanley Park…getting a burn.

Next day was the waterslides of death (aka. Cultus Lake Waterslides)

In continuing with pasty tradition, after slathering myself in 50 SPF and the others in 0, I was the only one who walked away with a painful burn. Life is so cruel.

That evening, while heading onto our next destination, I acquired another child. Mayhem ensued…

Actually, I just kind of wish if I EVER had children, they would be half this cute. Sniff sniff. To hear my kid scream when a song with singing comes on, “TURN BACK TO THE ROCK AND ROLL!” and proceeds to like screaming music only. Cutest.

CUTEST! Or at least I think so. But I know other peoples’ children are never as exciting to others. I can be one to vouch for that. So everyone, please stop talking to me about your children. Thank you.

That’s it for now…I’m not funny today. The horrible beast is ruining my hilarity. What a beast. I shot evil eyes towards thee. Anyways! So next month is first of two trips…and I will definitely shoot you all some pictures of me kayaking in Alaska. And jealousy…GO! Or not. Have a fabulous rest of summer.
